Why us

What makes us better

01

We read the meter, not the calendar

Acclimation is confirmed with a moisture meter against the manufacturer’s range — the reason wood floors cup or gap later.

02

Installed to the manufacturer’s spec

Every material goes down the way its maker specifies — that is what the warranty is written against.

03

A written schedule, reviewed daily

You get the plan before demolition and a review of the next day’s work at the end of each workday.

Hardwood FAQ

What should I put down before installing hardwood floors?

A flat, dry, structurally sound subfloor comes first, then the underlayment or moisture retarder the flooring manufacturer specifies for that product. Over concrete slabs, engineered hardwood is the usual choice, because solid hardwood is generally not installed below grade or directly on concrete.

Does new hardwood need to acclimate before installation?

Yes. National Wood Flooring Association guidelines call for the wood and subfloor moisture to be measured and brought within the manufacturer's range before installation, so readiness is confirmed with a moisture meter rather than a fixed number of days.

Is engineered hardwood as good as solid hardwood?

Engineered hardwood has a real wood wear layer over a plywood or composite core, so it moves less with humidity and can go over concrete or below grade. Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished more times over its life. The right choice depends on the subfloor and the room.

How much does hardwood floor installation cost?

Price moves with species, plank width, subfloor repair, stairs and whether old flooring has to be removed first.

Moisture measured before a single plank goes down.
